15 Tax Day Healthy Snacks

It’s tax day. I know just sent check to Uncle Sam. So let’s move onto something more cheery. Many of my clients struggle with the idea of “snacking” most people think “snacking” is a bad thing. Trust me its not. If you are working out you will need the extra fuel! To help you out here are 15 healthy snack ideas. The idea is to take any of these 2 ideas and combine them and wallah  you have a healthy snack.  Depending upon the length of your work day. You should be aiming to have anywhere between 2-3 snacks/day. If you don’t you are derailing your weight loss goals.

  1. 1/2 c plain greek yogurt
  2. 1 T natural nut butters
  3. 4-6 egg whites
  4. unlimited celery sticks
  5. 1 c berries
  6. 1 c cherry tomatoes
  7. 1 sliced medium cucumber with balsamic vinegar
  8. 1 medium apple
  9. 1 T can pumpkin
  10. 1 pear
  11. 1 small can tuna
  12. 1/2 c chocolate milk
  13. 1/4 c hummus
  14. 4 oz lean protein
  15. 2 T odos or coconut oil

Here are some are my favorite combinations, let me know yours.

  • hummus and egg whites — I treat it like a deviled egg
  • pumpkin and greek yogurt –YUM tastes like dessert, I usually have this as my late afternoon snack, just when I’m craving something sweet, you know what I’m talking about
  • hard boiled egg whites and cherry tomatoes, I mix this with some balsamic vinegar. I must confess I have an unusual obsession with balsamic vinegar.

  1. Nice website, I just came across it and I am already a fan. I just lost 30 pounds in 30 days, and I am excited to share my weight loss success with as many people as possible. If I can lose the weight then any one can. No matter what you do, never quit and you WILL attain every one of your weight loss objectives!

  2. there’s no such word as ‘wallah’ (“…and wallah you have a healthy snack…”).
    you mean the french word, voilà, which is pronounced “vwah-lah. it does not sound like ‘walla’ as in ‘walla walla, washington.
