Meet Kim

I’m Kim Jefferson and I’m so excited that you are here! web_pushup
Frustrated with your body?

Tired of looking in the mirror and wondering what happened to your waistline?

Sick of yo-yo dieting and meager results?

Restricting what you eat and working out endlessly are not the answer.

I’m Kim and I help women like you figure out what works for your body so you can be freaking healthy and feel good. And yeah, you’ll lose pounds too.

It’s a simple process where we actually examine how you feel when you eat something. But it makes all the difference.

Did you know that some foods can make you hungrier? Others will give you energy, and others can cause cravings.

The key is knowing that everyone is different. What triggers cravings in me may not in you. Which is precisely why cookie-cutter diets and fads don’t give you long-term results.

My exercise and food plans work for you because we become detectives, investigating what makes your body feel good and what doesn’t.

There’s no hoping and definitely no wishing it will work this time. Because we keep digging and planning until we find the combo that makes you feel good and gets the weight off. Period.

My clients LOVE my customized group coaching programs.

The Fabulous Fit Squad’s programs include virtual training, lifestyle tools and accountability so that your new body can go the distance while you’re hiking, playing 18 holes, skiing, or chasing your kids around the park.

I’m known for my no-nonsense, “own-your-sh*t” results-oriented tough love. I have degrees and certifications in marketing, personal training, nutrition, and wellness.

I help teach busy professional women to stop the extreme dieting/training merry-go-round and start giving themselves permission to live a healthy life without deprivation and guilt.

Want to understand your cravings and how to crush them? Be sure to read my free action guide “Crushing The Cravings”.

I have always been physically fit, working with Kim has brought me to a
new level. By engaging all muscle groups, I have witnessed noticeable
results. Kim is effective and FUN! Kim is an excellent motivator, she is
humorous, and her workouts are flexible, in that you can tailor them to
your fitness level by making them as challenging as you can allow on
any given day. I would recommend Kim’s training from a beginner to a
well-season athlete, and anywhere in between!” –Stephanie T.

My training philosophy

“Moderation without deprivation“

There is a healthy person inside each of us. I work with clients to help them understand that one bad day doesn’t push you completely off your course. Remember, it takes 21 days to create a habit; each day we take one step towards meeting our goals. If you stumble, who cares?  Just dust yourself off and start again. I am there when you stumble to help you get you back on your course.

Background

I have been intrigued with nutritional and fitness since I gained the dreaded freshmen 15. Before college, I could eat and drink whatever I wanted and not gain an ounce. Boy, was I shocked when summer came and I could no longer fit into my shorts! I began to take aerobics classes and became hooked on aerobics video tapes. (Yep, I said video tapes!).

My clothes started to fit better and I was feeling great. I was working out, so I could eat whatever I wanted right? This worked for awhile and then the weight started to creep back on. Again, shock: “what is happening, I am exercising?!”

Well, I didn’t fully realize that eating, strength training and degree of aerobic intensity all played a role in maintaining my weight. Before I started this journey, I was caught in a rat race: I traveled 100,000 miles a year, eating out for nearly 80% of all my meals, and I ate out even when I wasn’t traveling, because I was working 12 hour days and frankly was just too tired to think about cooking.

In 2003, I said ENOUGH. I was burnt out, my current job wasn’t my passion, so I left the rat race and started Personal Training full time. I was like many of you, though: I was confused about what made up a good work out program, how did nutrition play a role, and most importantly could I fit this all into a busy life without constantly feeling deprived? At the time I was 30 pounds heavier and didn’t know how to get off the weight. It took time and dedication on my part but I did it! I drop the weight and never looked back. I want this to be your story!

I learned so much great information on my healthy journey that I want share this information with everyone I know. I am an American College of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer, a certified Nutrition Specialist and a certified wellness coach. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Bentley College in Massachusetts. I am happily married. I enjoy cooking, reading, golf and vacations where I just lay by the pool reading a good book. In my spare time, I train to compete and figure and physique competitions. The accomplishment that I am most proud of is being one of the 90 women who qualified to compete in the first amateur event held at the 2007 Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic.
